In spring the new leaves emerge red, orange and bronze, though quickly change to apple greens over the summer. As autumn approaches the maple then slowly reverts back to its youthful colours including scarlet. Maples naturally grow in sheltered positions so avoid windy sights and scorching sun. Hardy.
